Progressive Beginner Ukulele Workshops

Who Should Attend:

These workshops are ideal for those who know a few chords and have been playing for more than 6 months. If you're a complete novice, you'll find our Intro To Ukulele Workshops a better fit.

What You’ll Learn:

• A new contemporary song each week (sometimes we'll work on trickier tunes for a few weeks in a row).
• Common strumming patterns plus ways to make strumming sound more interesting.
• Chord progressions, interesting chord voicings to add to your repertoire
• Introduction to barre chords and chord voicings "up the neck"
• Techniques such as finger picking, riffs, and chucks to make songs sound great!
• Practical tips, tricks, and exercises to improve fluency.

Benefits:

• Expert tuition to resolve theory and technical issues
• Small class size (max 6 participants) to avoid overwhelming group settings
• Experience jamming with others, helpful for joining local ukulele groups or simply playing for pleasure at home
• Focus on common challenges like singing while playing, new strumming patterns, reading TAB, barre chords, finger-picking, and quick chord changes

Relaxed, casual, and supportive atmosphere led by Alison Glew, Director of Alison Glew Guitar and Ukulele School.

Schedule:

• Wednesdays: 10:45 am - 11:45 am (during school terms)
• Classes are run year-round. Join at any time and enjoy continuity with the same group of friends

• Trial Lesson: $30
• Pack of 10 Lessons: $300 ($30 per class)
• Pack of 5 Lessons: $175 ($35 per class)
• Casual Session: $35
