Strumming is often the part that people find is THE MOST DIFFICULT… it’s often over complicated and can seem unattainable. Something that only “gifted” musicians can conquer… but not anymore!

With the right instruction and by learning the simple (but often overlooked) foundations of rhythm, you’ll be able to having fun while creating expressive ukulele music.

The Strumming Masterclass is where strumming is demystified and you’ll learn techniques and tips to make songs expressive!

  • The simple theory behind strumming so even the most complicated rhythms are achievable.
  • Different ways to count and feel rhythms (conventional and not-so-conventional)
  • Strumming patterns to use for 3, 4 and 6 beats in a bar (beginner to advanced)
  • 8 beat strumming patterns
  • Popular rhythm patterns used in various music styles and genres so you can make your songs sound more like the original version.
  • How to use dynamics to add texture to a song so it doesn’t sound monotonous and clunky.
  • Advanced techniques such as percussive chucks, staccato and palm mutes to add variety and interest to your songs.
  • Advanced strumming patterns using 2 x variations on the triple strum techniques (awesome for blues and jazz).
  • Syncopation and how it can be used to create interest.
  • When and how to use a metronome to assist with timing.
  • Practice techniques that work fast and get you results.

ABOUT ALISON GLEW
Alison is the founder of Alison Glew Guitar School in Winthrop, Western Australia. She runs weekly (sold out) Ukulele Workshops, is the leader of Ukulele Jam with Alison Glew an online community of over 500 musicians from all over the world and is the creator of the popular online courses Ukulele Evolution and Intro To Ukulele.

She is a guitar and ukulele teacher specialising in helping people play contemporary music for pleasure with over 30 years teaching experience.

Alison has helped thousands of students become confident musicians through her school and is well known for simplifying musical concepts so that students learn quickly and easily.
